Getting Older And Need Skin Tightened? 2 Ways To Do This

Blog

As you get older it is common for skin to become loose in the face and other areas. This can make you look much older. Fortunately, there are things you can do to help with this problem, two of which are listed below.

Use an Anti-Aging Skin Tightening Device

One option you have is to use an anti-aging skin tightening device. You can purchase this device over the counter online or in some beauty stores and do this yourself. There are different types of anti-aging skin tightening devices that you can use.

There are radiofrequency skin tightening devices that use radiofrequency energy that heats the skin tissue below the outer layer of your skin. Once you do this collagen fibers tighten on your skin and collagen can be increased, which can help with aging skin.

There are also infrared skin tightening devices that you can use. This type uses small energy pulses that come from an LED light in a variety of infrared wavelengths. The LED light penetrates your skin and gets to the second layer, also known as the epidermis. Collagen fibers will start to shrink during the treatment.

Talk with a dermatologist to determine which anti-aging skin tightening device is best for your skin type so it will work best for you.

Go to a Dermatologist

You can also go to a dermatologist for treatment to tighten your skin. There are many ways they can do this.  They may choose a laser treatment that uses laser lights and high-energy devices that work much like an at-home skin-tightening device but is much stronger. This treatment can also be used to treat fine lines and wrinkles as it stimulates collagen making skin look younger.

The dermatologist may choose a non-surgical non-invasive facelift. The doctor physically lifts your skin and holds it in place with sutures that dissolve on their own. The treatment generally takes about an hour or so and you have long-lasting results.

Laser resurfacing may also be used to increase skin laxity. You will see results from this treatment in a few weeks. This process uses a laser to remove the top layer of your skin causing collagen production. One thing to consider is it will take your skin time to heal so expect a long period of downtime. The dermatologist can tell you how long this will take.
